Clemson 4 Wheel Center was born in 1970 in a service station in downtown Clemson, South Carolina.  Fred Perry was quite an accomplished young mechanic when he ventured into his own business.  Thanks to a large Jeep dealership nearby there was an abundance of CJ5s that needed service, and a shortage of mechanics proficient in 4WD service.  Fred quickly made a name for himself fixing these Jeeps.

 

In 1978 Fred moved his business to its present location and began stocking accessories from the big name manufacturers of the day, including Hickey, Hooker, .......  The business grew quickly and in 1984 a warehouse was added.  In 1990 a seperate 3 bay shop building was built, bringing total shop bays up to 7.  In 1996 a new 3600 square foot showroom was built.

Today Clemson 4 Wheel Center stocks, sells & installs the products of most large manufacturers in the industry, including Warn, Bestop, Fabtech and Superlift, just to name a few.  Also, most of the employees are avid off-roaders who use the products they sell, so customer service is top-notch.  Often, answers to customer questions are based on personal experience, not something read from a catalog.
